The Pride of Auckland Company operates its fleet of large purpose-built sailboats on the sheltered waters of the sparkling Auckland Harbour. With its trade mark Blue and White sails, the yachts have become the nautical icon in Auckland - City of Sails - for international, national, and locals visitors alike.

Pride is about Sailing and Dining. Equipped with an award-winning shore based kitchen, Pride operates from the Heart of Auckland City, on Auckland Harbour (Waitemata harbour). This harbour is what Auckland is world famous for, the hub of new Zealand's nautical playground. It is a place to be active or laid-back, a special place of relaxation, and of rejuvenation.
Pride's services are truly unique worldwide. Nowhere else can your people enjoy, through the Magic of Sailing, the true kiwi hospitality that is the Essence of Auckland City. A Pride of Auckland experience is truly the essential "must do" authentic Auckland Experience. Don't leave here without it!
Services include ¾ hour sailing experiences throughout the day, 1½ hour Coffee cruises with Tea/coffee and muffins, morning and afternoon. Lunch cruises providing picnic box or cooked lunches, 1½ hours, and our Dinner cruise with a fresh four course set menu dinner for 2½ hours. We offer half day and whole day charters, match races and other specially created services to meet your needs, such as Sunset Cruises and Champagne Cruises. Departure times can often be modified to meet your needs. Just ask us!
Charterers can choose from single or multi-boat charters, and if more than one boat is used we can offer semi-competitive racing for inter-business challenges, or corporate team building or pure and simple fun! Team-Building events are very popular because they give immediate feedback of the success of the team. A less effective team goes slower. Put the right people with the right skills in the right positions, and improvements are usually dramatic!
As well, the yachts are ideal for company entertainment functions of any nature. Their area of operations is generally constrained only by the length of charter and the weather prevailing at the time of the event, and departure times for the vessels can be arranged to suit.
Monohull Yachts, Sailboats or Sloops The four
15 metre Harbour Challenge Monohull Yachts were each built from the same mould.
They are named Challenger, Courageous, Defender and Defiance. They were purpose
designed and built in 1986 to provide: Dining afloat and sailing experiences,
Match racing events
Corporate and Charter sailing, They comfortably accommodate 21 passengers
in the cockpits of each, giving a maximum capacity for each sailing experience
of 84 passengers. For dining, Challenger and Courageous can each seat 19 in
the restaurant below, and Defender and Defiance 21 passengers each, totaling
80 passengers.
